CINOTON Solar LED (w/ Motion Sensor) Review: A Budget-Friendly Outdoor Floodlight

4.0 rating

The solar motion sensor flood light I test in this video is powered by a small solar panel about 6 by 4 inches. It works to keep the over 2,000mAh battery charged and ready for use at night.

Lighting Modes

One of the cool features of this light in particular is its functionality. It has three lighting modes:

  1. Bright when motion sensor activated, then completely turned off when no motion is detected
  2. Bright when sensor is activated, then dim when no motion detected
  3. Dim throughout the entire night I personally found the first setting to be the best one for my purposes.

One last aspect of the Cinoton solar LED is its two side lights. As you’ll see, these ends can move to increase the surface area of light that you want. This can be useful if you want more horizontal coverage.

Recommendations/reminders

These solar LEDs need to have sun to charge properly. In my case, my light received most of its charging in the afternoon. Make sure you place it in an area that gets some decent sunlight during the day. My main recommendation for you is to take the time to install this light properly. I rushed this process and now I have four drill holes in my wall instead of just two!
